Competition Rules and Organizational Guidelines

By registering for the 29th Glocknerkönig on June 7, 2026, you (the participant) declare your consent to the competition rules and organizational guidelines listed here:

  • You confirm that there are no medical objections to your participation and that your training and health status meet the requirements of the competition. You are aware of the health and other risks and circumstances associated with the event and expressly confirm that you are participating at your own responsibility and risk.

  • You also assure that no legal claims or demands will be made against the organizer, its employees, clubs, all affected municipalities, or other persons and entities, unless liability insurance claims exist.

  • No claims for recourse are possible in cases of force majeure, rescheduling, course shortening, or cancellation.

  • After registration, there is no right of withdrawal. Cancellation of your registration is not possible, and the entry fee is non-refundable. An exception is if the organizer does not accept your registration.

  • The starter information in the starter envelope must be read carefully by each participant. In addition, all announcements before, during, and after the race, as well as the behavioral rules given therein, must be followed.

  • You are aware that the Austrian Road Traffic Regulations (STVO) must be observed throughout the event.

  • Helmets are mandatory.

  • The Großglockner High Alpine Road is closed to car traffic from the Ferleiten toll station to Fuscher Törl. However, vehicles of the organizing committee, emergency services, or the press may be on the course. Additionally, cyclists descending the course should be expected. Keep to the right side of the road along the entire race course.

  • Instructions from officials and doctors must be followed.

  • You consent to any necessary medical treatment.

  • E-bikes are not allowed. Participants with an e-bike will be immediately disqualified and removed from the race. In this case, the entry fee will not be refunded.

  • Bicycles with triathlon handlebars or other handlebar attachments are not permitted.

  • Drugs and doping are prohibited (unscheduled checks are possible).

  • Approximately 200 meters after the start (Classic + Ultra), there is a bottleneck at an underpass. The race control car will release the race only AFTER the underpass.

  • You must have an individual insurance policy with an insurer authorized in Austria, covering liability for personal and property damage, as well as appropriate health insurance for such events.

  • The race control car must NOT be overtaken (consequence: disqualification).

  • Participation in the Glocknerkönig ends for each participant upon leaving the finish area at Fuscher Törl (Classic) or at Edelweißspitze (Ultra) or upon voluntary withdrawal from the race.

  • The organizer assumes no liability for the contents of clothing bags, neither for damage nor loss. Do not place valuables in the bags under any circumstances.

  • You agree that the data you provide will be collected and used, among other things, for newsletters and sending announcements and advertisements. You may revoke this consent at any time.

  • Your personal data will be transmitted upon registration to our timing management company, Datasport, in Switzerland. If registering for the sprint race on June 6, organized by Volkshilfe, the data will also be forwarded to Volkshilfe. Additionally, if you subscribe to a trial membership, your information will be transmitted to 2Peaks. Both the organizer and the listed partner companies guarantee that these data will not be shared with other third parties. Only your name, year of birth, nationality, and, if applicable, your team will be published on the start and result lists.

  • Our partner Marathon-Photos.com will receive participants’ names and email addresses to offer personal photos after the event. You can object to this data usage directly during registration to avoid receiving photos.

  • Photo and video recordings will be made at the Glocknerkönig. This material will be published online (website, social media) and in print (press, brochures, etc.) to showcase our activities. Please inform us if we may not publish images of you: glocknerkoenig@bruck-fusch.at

  • Before participation, you must familiarize yourself with the race course, facilities, equipment, and areas associated with the event. If you consider there is a safety risk, the race management must be notified immediately in advance.

  • For minor participants, the legal guardian confirms the competition rules and organizational guidelines upon registration. Race materials will only be given to minors accompanied by a legal guardian or an adult representative.

  • Severability clause: Should any individual provisions of the registration (contract) or the competition rules and organizational guidelines be invalid or unenforceable, or become invalid or unenforceable after the contract is concluded, the validity of the remaining contract shall remain unaffected. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a valid and enforceable provision whose effect most closely matches the economic intent pursued by the parties with the invalid or unenforceable provision. The above provisions apply accordingly if the contract proves to be incomplete.

For participation in the Volkshilfe Charity Hill Climb, the separately defined competition regulations and organizational guidelines applicable to that event shall apply.
